Valuation Coverage & Insurance
As required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Georgia Department of Public Safety, Buckhead Movers is fully insured and offers valuation to cover loss and damage. We offer several options under our moving valuation coverage on your move (VALUATION COVERAGE IS NOT INSURANCE):
- Option 1: Released Value Protection. This option provides for reimbursement for loss or damage at a rate of $0.60 per pound per article. This option is included in the Transportation and there is no additional CHARGE. Carrier shall have the option of repairing and/or restoration to the original condition
- Option 2: Full Value Protection. This option provides coverage based on current replacement value at the time of loss or damage, up to the dollar amount of valuation declared by you (See Note). The cost is based on the actual value of the goods, and the Deductible, if any, declared by you. Carrier shall have option of repairing and/or restoration to the original condition.
Many movers won’t tell you this but valuation coverage only protects your shipment for a period not to exceed 180 days. Valuation also doesn’t cover catastrophic loss and/or unrelated perils including but not limited to fire, wind, water, or Acts of God. Our company is committed to keeping your items safe and protected by providing quality service and by offering several types of liability. One option is to check with your homeowners, business, or renters insurance company. Many policies already cover storage and some offer riders for moves! Another option is to purchase insurance from a third party and we recommend Baker International.
Baker International is underwritten by AM Best A++ Superior Insurance Companies. They also cover up to 90 days of storage at no additional cost!
